Scout Camps

Banyule District, being part of Plenty Valley Region and Victorian Branch, is lucky enough to be directly served by 3 Scout camps. We have our own Scout camp - Camp Warringal - which is an excellent facility near Whittlesea, plus close by is Clifford Park at Wonga Park, and then there's the State camp - Gillwell Park near Gembrook.

Here you'll find locality and detail maps for the three campsites, plus more detailed information on our own District camp, Camp Warringal:

Camp Warringal - Banyule District's Scout Camp

Camp Warringal is situated adjacent to Mount Disappointment State Forest, approximately 70 minutes from the Melbourne GPO. The Camp is set on 20 acres of natural bushland with Crystal Creek on the SW border. The facilities have been developed to make the camp ideal for Family and Church Group activities, Patrol camps, Pack holidays, PL training, Jamborees of the Air and nature walks.

Camp Warringal was unfortunately affected by the Black Saturday Bushfires and has been undergoing reconstruction. While the camp's facilities will continue to improve, it's very much open for business!

The kitchen/dining building has a fully equipped modern kitchen with 2 gas stoves, an urn, a pie-warmer, 2 refrigerators, gas HWS, 2 double sinks and ample bench space. There is enough crockery and cutlery for parties up to 48 people.Camp Warringal Kitchen

The dining room also seats 48 and has a slow combustion space heater for comfortable dining.
